Three truths of Grace

Grace does not cost you anything.                      Ephesians 2:4-10

But it did cost Jesus everything.
II Corinthinans 5:21

If you do not accept it - it will cost you everything.
Mark 16:16

Man is seperated from a perfect God by his sin - therefore the price of sin has to be paid in order for man to be reconciled to God.  Since God is perfect He cannot have anything to do with sin and since we are sinful God cannot (in His perfection) have anything to do with us.  And because God is perfect - a perfect sacrifice had to be made to pay for our sins.

Christ is that perfect sacrifice.  God sent His only Son as a sacrifice for our sins.  If we accept Christ as our Lord and Savior then His blood that was shed on the cross is the payment in full for our sins.  However, if we do not accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior then there is no payment for our sins and we must pay.  The rightful judgement of God gives us a free will to choose to pay for our sins ourselves or let Jesus pay for them.

God has extended His grace to us - and all we have to do is accept it.  There are many who will say that many roads lead to heaven - but God said there is only one.  Accept His only Son Jesus and the salvation He offers - or pay for your sins forever.  If there were ANY other way to get to heaven - then Jesus would not have had to die on the cross.

But since He did have to die on the cross for us - God will be fully justified to hold us accountable for not accepting His grace.

II COR 8:9 For you know (A)the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that (B)though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich.

Jesus was rich - He was already in heaven with God the Father.  But He became a man (poor) so that He could die for your sins and give you the opportunity to become rich. (attain salvation through the grace of God)
